The man suspected of shooting at people inside a Norwegian mosque on Saturday appeared in court on Monday.
Police are keeping Philip Manshaus, 21-year-old, in custody.
He appeared in the court with black eyes and wounds on his face.
His lawyer said he does not admit to committing any crime.
A suspected right-wing extremist killed more than 50 people at two New Zealand mosques in March.
Online postings under Manshaus’ name expressed admiration for the massacre.
A guilty verdict can award a sentence of up to 21 years in prison to Philip Manshaus.
