United States President Donald Trump spoke with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.
He said, India and Pakistan should reduce tension over the Kashmir issue.
He talked about strategic partnership and trade and maintaining peace in the South Asian region.
Trump also spoke on Monday with the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi to strengthen US-India economic ties through increased trade.
Modi said, Pakistan’s extreme rhetoric and anti-India violence in the region is not conducive to peace in Kashmir.
Curfew was imposed in the Indian-occupied Kashmir and thousands of Kashmiris were detained in the protests recently.
The Indian-held Kashmir is seeing the worst humanitarian crisis.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that curfew in the region should be lifted and restrictions ended.
