The Afghan Taliban said on Wednesday they were close to an agreement with United States officials on a deal.
Taliban spokesperson in Doha said, ninth round of talks began last week and good news is expected, adding, US officials had agreed upon a timeline of about 14 to 24 months for the withdrawal of US forces.
U.S. special representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, will visit Kabul to brief President Ashraf Ghani.
The U.S. officials engaged in talks with the Taliban in Doha did not issue any statement.
The U.S. military officials have said the U.S. forces will withdraw if Afghanistan is not used for terrorism against the Western world and become safe haven for international militants.
