U.S. officials, Afghan Taliban hold talks in UAE

The Afghanistan conflict has become one of the longest without any solution.

As diplomatic efforts intensified, the Afghan Taliban representatives met United States officials in the United Arab Emirates on Monday for talks to end the 17-year war in Afghanistan.

The Taliban said, the presence of international forces in Afghanistan is the main obstacle to peace and government in Kabul is illegitimate, refusing to deal with the Western-backed government.

Pakistan and the UAE officials were also present in the meeting to resolve the Afghan conflict.
