The U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham is believed to have discussed with Pakistani leaders an offer of a free trade agreement (FTA) in return for its assistance in ending the Afghan war during his visit to Pakistan.
He was in Islamabad this week.
The Republican senator is President Trump’s close ally in Congress.
The free trade agreement offer is to get the Pakistanis to push the Taliban to the peace table and end the Afghan war, according to reports.
The U.S. has long complained Pakistan provides sanctuaries to the leadership of the Afghan Taliban.
