Indian forces killed three Pakistan Army soldiers and injured one along the Line of Control (LoC) in unprovoked firing on Tuesday.
Pakistani positions were hit in Rakhchakri area of Rawalakot Sector.
Subedar Muhammad Riaz from Jhang, Lance Havaldar Azizullah from Noshero Feroz and Sepoy Shahid Mansib from Abbottabad were killed in the firing.
According to reports, Indian military also suffered casualties in response by Pakistan Army.
The Pakistan military said, the Indian aggression was responded in a befitting manner.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a press conference, the armed forces had responsibly retaliated to the firing by the Indian military.
He said Pakistani troops striked targets few miles from an Indian military’s administrative unit.
He said, Pakistan military decided not to hit a military target or endanger human life in retaliation at the cost of regional peace.
He said, Pakistan does not want escalation.
Tensions escalated between Pakistan and India on Feb. 14 following a suicide bombing in Indian occupied Kashmir killing at least 44 Indian troops resulting in fighter planes of both countries hitting targets inside India and Pakistan.
