Director Bilal Lashari’s film “The legend of Maula Jutt” is facing difficulties.
“The legend of Maula Jutt” team has been accused of stealing name of the feature film, dialogues and characters released in 1979 “Maula Jutt”.
Mutaqqi Bhatti, the son of the producer, Muhammed Sarwar Bhatti, who made the film “Maula Jutt” the first time had submitted an application at the Lahore High Court to stop the release of the film for stealing the name of the film, dialogues and characters.
The Lahore High Court had stopped the “The legend of Maula Jutt” team from using the name of the film, dialogues and characters on the application of Mutaqqi Bhatti.
“The legend of Maula Jutt” team had confirmed the court had issued orders not to use the dialogues and characters, however, they claimed they have the copy rights of the film “The legend of Maula Jutt”.
The producer of the old film Muhammed Sarwar Bhatti has submitted the copy rights, issued to the “The legend of Maula Jutt” team, at the court.
Muhammed Sarwar Bhatti has submitted an application at the court against the copy rights issued to the “The legend of Maula Jutt” team.
Muhammed Sarwar Bhatti said in the application Bilal Lashari and his team acquired the copy rights from the copy right registrar working illegally and therefore these copy right certificates should be cancelled.
It is also requested in the application that the court issues order to the federal government to form a copy right board.
Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Shafqat Cheema, Gohar Rasheed, Saima Baloch and Ali Azmat worked in the film.
