National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser suspended sessions of the standing committees on Tuesday.
The NA Speaker said, the decision to cancel the session was taken owing to the austerity drive, adding, the standing committees sessions should only be called during the meetings of the lower house.
The Pakistan People’s Party demanded the withdrawal of the decision, stating it is an attempt to limit former president Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to the parliament.
