Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met Russian Foreign Minister Sergie Lavrov in Moscow on Wednesday and discussed bilateral ties between Pakistan and Russia in the perspective of the changing scenario in Central Asia and South Asia.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers also talked about the efforts on the peace process in Afghanistan.
The foreign minister also visited Iran, Afghanistan and China in attempts to finding the peaceful solution of the Afghan conflict and reconciliation between the warring parties.
Earlier, Pakistan arranged peace talks between the Taliban and the U.S. as the United States military plans to withdraw troops from Afghanistan.
He said all these countries have endorsed and praised efforts of Pakistan.
The foreign minister is on a four-nation tour under the government’s policy of outreaching to other nations.
During discussions, he said, the regional countries support an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in his tweet that they are not slowing down and he had productive meetings with the leaders of other countries for connectivity and the peace process is making positive headway.
