Four security officials were killed and six wounded when a suicide car bomber struck a security convoy near Kabul in Afghanistan.

In another attack eight people and eleven insurgents were killed, said Afghan Interior Ministry deputy spokesperson.

After 17 years of the war on terror launched by the United States and its allies, the Taliban control half of Afghanistan.

Suicide bombings and gun battles are a routine matter.
