South Waziristan Deputy Commissioner Nauman Afzal Afridi issued a notification banning public gatherings, rallies, and processions for a month to maintain law and order in the area.
The ban is imposed applying Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the tribal district.
Following tensions in North Waziristan after a clash occurred between security officials and protesters, delivering provocative and objectionable speeches have also been prohibited.
Carrying any kind of arms and ammunition or weapons, aerial firing, and using vehicles with tinted glasses is also prohibited and the violators of the ban will be punished under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
