An Egyptian policeman was sentenced to death on Tuesday for killing a Christian man and his son.
The incident outraged the minority Coptic community in Egypt. Coptic Christians make up around 10 per cent of population.
Rabee Khalifa killed construction workers Imad Kamal Sadeq, 49, and his 21-year-old son David.
He was posted outside a church as an armed police guard and killed them after an argument.
In a largely Muslim population, Copts have long complained of discrimination.
Islamist militants see them as infidels frequently attack them.
The death sentence is subject to appeal.
