According to Khouj news sources, medicine making mafia flouted the orders of the prime minister and the health minister.
The prices were not reduced despite notices by the government.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued order for reducing the prices of the medicines.
Federal Health Minister Amir Kiyani had also promised to take action against the medicine manufacturing companies.
But no practical steps were taken against medicine companies.
Medicine experts say, these mafias are too strong to take action against.
Now the prices will not be reduced and the masses are being made false promises.
Last week, the pharmaceutical companies had increased the prices of medicines including medicines for heart diseases from Rs 184 to Rs 485.
Sugar control medicine was increased from Rs 272 to Rs 460. Cough syrups were increased from Rs 548 to Rs 921.
Blood pressure medicines were increased from Rs 162 to Rs 235.
