Pakistan Muslim League (N) President and Opposition leader in the National Assembly has said, the making of PKLI hospital was a priority for him.
He said this after the first successful liver transplant at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant hospital in Lahore.
Shehbaz Sharif said in a Twitter message: “Got great news of successful liver transplant procedure at PKLI. Congrats to Dr Saeed Akhtar, Dr Faisal Dar, former health minister Kh Salman Rafique & relevant health dept officials for their efforts in setting up this public sector facility- 100% free for those who can’t afford.”
He said, this project is 100% free for those who can’t afford treatment expenses.
The Pakistan Muslim League (N) President said in another statement, Pakistanis have to go to other countries for medical treatment.
He said heavy resources are needed for the travel and treatment but now Pakistanis can get treated in their own country and lack of money will not be a hurdle in the way.
He said, the decision to make PKLI hospital was taken over the rapidly increasing diseases of liver and kidneys.
He said he pays tribute to the team which is working day and night.
