Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter jet brought down two Indian warplanes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir last week, according to reports.
The United States asked the Pakistani authorities if Pakistan used a U.S.-built F-16 to shoot the Indian plane.
The JF-17 is a Chinese-designed fighter jet manufactured by Pakistan and China.
The downed Indian jet was a MiG-21, a Soviet-designed aircraft.
The
air jet had been in service since the 1960s.
The
MiG-21 forms the backbone of the Indian Air Force that has about 200 MiG-21 fighter
jets.
