Pakistan lodges protest with U.S. for blacklisting

US State Secretary Mike Pompeo said, Pakistan among the "countries of particular concern."

Rejecting the U.S. State department move, Pakistan lodged a protest with the United States against placing it on the blacklist of countries violating religious freedom. 

Pakistan Foreign Office officials told the US diplomats called at the foreign office the minorities have religious freedom and there was no violation of religious rights of the people. 

Pakistan is a country of particular concern for the United States. The move is to exert pressure on the country to end violation of religious freedom.
