Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down two Indian aircrafts, said the military spokesperson Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor.
He said, the action was in self-defense, adding, they don’t want to claim any victory.
He said, despite capability for war, they look towards peace.
He said, no human life was affected, adding, the strikes were carried out from their jurisdiction.
Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor said, “We want peace in the region and it is crazy to discuss war.”
The military spokesperson said, the armed forces did not want to retaliate at the cost of regional peace but the country had no option but to respond after India’s air incursion a day earlier.
The Pakistan Air Forces struck down two Indian air forces planes.
One fell on the Pakistani side and the other on the Indian side.
Maj-Gen also confirmed that Pakistani troops captured two Indian pilots.
He said, as a responsible army, it shifted one to a hospital while the other is in their custody.
One of the aircrafts fell inside Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir while other fell inside Indian-occupied Kashmir.
He said, “we have no intention of escalation, but are fully prepared to do so.”
