The 14th Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) reiterated the Palestinians’ right to statehood.
The summit concluded in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The communique called upon the international community to shoulder its responsibility towards regional stability and help resolve the Palestinian cause.
The OIC members strongly condemned the acts of violation of rights of the Palestinian people saying the criminal act threaten the security and safety of the Middle Eastern region.
The communique reaffirmed the centrality of the question of Palestine and the issue of Jerusalem.
The OIC reiterated their principled and continuous support for a sovereign Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
They stressed the need to protect the right of return for refugees under Resolution 194 and to face any denial of these rights with full force.
