Palestinian prime minister-designate Mohammad Shtayyeh will form a new government in the coming days.
A meeting was held on Monday (today) to decide on candidates for remaining ministries as agreements have been reached over which factions would control which ministries.
Five smaller factions will also join Fatah in the new government.
Abbas charged Shtayyeh on March 10 with forming the new government but real powers remain with the 84-year-old Fatha leader who heads Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.
Abbas has been in power since 2005.
Israel also maintains a military occupation in the West Bank.
Hamas has criticised the formation of the government for excluding its supporters from the new government.
