Pakistan Muslim League (N) Vice President Mariyam Nawaz political career is at risk.
The Election Commission has accepted the application by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf against the position of Mariyam Nawaz as PML-N Vice President.
The Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan headed a three-member bench of the Election Commission and heard the case against Mariyam Nawaz as PML-N Vice President.
The counsel for the petitioner said, the Accountability Court has declared Mariyam Nawaz ineligible for the position.
In the absence of party president, Mariyam Nawaz will exercise the powers of acting Vice President.
The counsel for the petitioner said, how is it possible members of the Assembly fulfill the needs for Articles 62 and 63 and no one is to control them?
The Supreme Court has also declared Nawaz Sharif ineligible for the party position.
The Election Commission accepting the application for hearing issued notices to Mariyam Nawaz.
Another hearing will be held on June 17.
