Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that Iran would file a legal case against the U.S. officials who imposed sanctions on the country.
Sanctions on Tehran were reimposed after U.S. President Donald Trump chose last May to abandon Iran’s 2015 nuclear accord.
Speaking in a live broadcast on state television, he said, the U.S. sanctions had created difficulties for Iran, adding, the sanctions are crime against humanity.
He also said, Iran will also pursue the case in International Court of Justice (ICJ).
He said, the U.S. sanctions are aimed at overthrowing the government.
He said, Rial, Iranian currency, became weaker because of the sanctions and inflation gone higher.
Rouhani said he had ordered the ministries of foreign affairs and justice to file a legal case in Iranian courts against those in America who designed and imposed sanctions on Iran.
