Khouj News covered and co sponsored an event celebrating International Women’s Day at APWA.
Women survivors of violence and beneficiaries of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Human Rights Crisis Center for Women, Department of Social Welfare, Government of Punjab, participated in a funfilled event to celebrate International Women’s Day with pride and gratitude. The event was hosted by All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) in collaboration with a community welfare organization, Bali Memorial Trust (BMT).
Women eagerly participated in various fun filled competitions like musical chair, race & singing competitions.
A cathartic art therapy activity was also held to let the women survivors of violence express their feelings through colors.
The women really enjoyed the cake cutting and balloon releasing ceremony and expressed their gratitude to the host organizations for providing them relief services.
All the participants were briefed about the network of women empowerment services provided by APWA, Bali Memorial Trust and Human Rights Crisis Center for Women, by the speakers, Ms. Roohi Syed, Ms. Dur e Shahwar, Ms. Laila Nusrat and Ms. Rabia Usman.
International Women’s Day’s event, was a continuation of the community outreach program “Aware to Empower” which focuses on enlightening the masses about the mechanisms available to redress violence & abuse.
