Israel carried out air strikes on Iranian targets in Syria early on Monday, pledging to stop its one of the main enemies Iran from entrenching itself militarily in neighbouring Syria.
Reportedly, hundreds of air strikes against the Iranian military targets have been carried out in the past days.
Israeli military statement said, the air defence systems intercepted a rocket fired from Syria.
The Syrian capital Damascus accused Israel of carrying out air raids in the country’s south.
The statement said, the air strikes are targeting the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Iranian and Hizbollah arms depots in Syria.
The Israeli military has warned Syrian military against any attempts to harm Israeli territory or forces.
According to reports, the Israeli fighter planes faced anti-aircraft fire during the raids.
