Iran will be destroyed, says U.S. President

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran saying if Iran wants to fight it will be destroyed.

He said in a tweet, war with the United States will be the official end of Iran.

The United States has deployed an aircraft carrier group and B-52 bombers to the Gulf following days of heightened tension between Washington and Tehran.

Trump’s tweet comes after he seemingly sought to soften his tone on Iran.

The U.S. President Donald Trump pulled America out of Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers a year ago.

Iran agreed to limit its enrichment of uranium in 2015 in exchange for lifting of economic sanctions as the United States prepared to pull out of the nuclear accord.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, Trump had been issuing genocidal threats but Iranians have stood tall for a millennia while aggressors all gone.

Yemeni rebels allied with Iran launched a drone attack on an oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia and hundreds of rockets, mortars and ballistic missiles were fired into the kingdom.

Saudi-led coalition declared war on the Yemeni rebels Houthis, Iran-backed Shiite militias, in March 2015 to support Yemen’s government recognized by Western powers.

Washington and Tehran say they don’t seek war.

Defence experts and U.S. security advisers worry any miscalculation at this fraught moment could spiral out of control.
