FM Qureshi, U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo discuss regional security

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi called U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and exchanged views on the situation in the region.

The foreign minister is in London and talked to the U.S. secretary of state on the phone.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed the U.S. official about the important measures according to the National Action Plan.

The foreign minister said Pakistan and United States relations are of utmost importance for peace and stability in the region.

They also discussed Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, the government is working on stopping money laundering and support for terrorism.

He said, the internal control of financial institutions, stock exchange and insurance companies have been made better.

They also exchanged views on the support Pakistan is providing for the Afghan peace process and agreed to continue cooperation on the peace process.
