At least 272 election staff died of fatigue-related illnesses caused by long hours of counting millions of ballot papers in Indonesia, country of 260 million people.
Around 1,878 others had fallen ill.
Indonesia held the world’s biggest single-day election ten days ago, that estimated drew 80 percent of the total 193 million voters.
Voting was largely peaceful.
The election staff counted millions of ballot papers by hand, reports said.
The presidential election was combined with national and regional parliamentary voting on April 17 to cut election costs.
