The Dubai Police foiled two attempts to smuggle drugs.
The first attempt was made to smuggle crystal methamphetamine using AED100 bank notes.
The drugs were concealed in bank notes.
In the second attempt a female detainee tried to smuggle drugs in her contact lens case.
The police were alerted by the suspicious behaviour of the suspect.
The police inspected the money and detected the drugs.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, said, “Our professional staff inspected the detainee’s belongings and were able to detect the smuggled drugs in the unusually heavy contact lens case.”
He issued instructions to promote officers from the Al Qusais police station for foiling the drug smuggling attempts and ensuring Dubai’s security and safety.
The officials who were promoted are Corporal Ahmed Issa, Corporal Saleh Alawi and Policeman Marwan Al Maamari.
