Pakistan: Due to current COVID-19 situation, the lockdown has been extended till 14th April 2020. This statement has mixed emotions and stigmas attached to it. As per the statistics, the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Pakistan is ascending each day.
With all schools, universities, and public recreational spots are shut in cities, and streets of country look dull and funereal. Since this social distance practice is the only do-able cure to stop this outbreak. As per legal notifications only the sectors of grocery and healthcare are operating to serve people.
Deep down we all are aware that this pandemic is not just threatening to health but also to the wealth. Pondering over the lockdown situation people would be affected in abundance, from hunger rather than virus itself. As we see numerous citizens of Pakistan are daily wage earners and they are not privileged enough to keep their stoves running during this hard time.
Indeed as a nation, during COVID-19 we are encountering agitation but alongside there is one effort that needs to be appreciated and valued. ‘Effort of being generous’. Pakistanis all over their homeland are proving themselves to be at the verge of generosity and we proudly claim them as munificent humans.
Meanwhile our digital media is playing a pivotal role and has transpired as one of the sources to reach underprivileged families. An assortment of ‘Ration Drives’ have been initiated by nonprofit authorities. We are flattered being associated to such a country which has the top philanthropists and charity organizations. When it comes to help a needy, it can be claimed without any dubiety that Pakistanis are bighearted.
“According to a report by the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Pakistan contributes more than 1% of its GDP to charity, placing it among far wealthier countries like the United Kingdom (1.3%) and Canada (1.2%) and around twice what India gives relative to GDP.”
Hence, COVID crisis are being combated by Pakistanis with one accord. Government, Industrialists, NGOs and Common Citizens are playing their part to facilitate and accommodate the under privileged citizens to the best of their capabilities. We all are in this situation together and we will come out of this together. We just need to cooperate with government and play our part being the responsible citizens of Pakistan. Just stay calm and keep on helping the ones who are in need.
Pakistan Zindabad!
