The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has been repeatedly targeting Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, Robert Vadra, for his alleged corruption in land deals as rival Congress party has announced Priyanka Gandhi as general secretary.

She has been put her in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra, is a businessman and being investigated for corruption in land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan.

Priyanka, 47, will contest elections from Rae Barelli, her mother Sonia’s seat.

Robert Vadra congratulated his wife in a Facebook post:  “Congratulations P… always by your side in every phase of your life.”

Senior Congress leaders Motilal Vohra and Ajay Maken said in tweets, the responsibility given to Priyanka is very important, this will not only have an effect on eastern Uttar Pradesh but also on other regions.

They said, idea is to replant Congress as the only natural choice on a pan-India level and Priyanka Gandhi is the best choice for the job.
