Irish women allowed abortion after new legislation

Abortion in Ireland has been allowed after a legislation was passed in the Irish Parliament.

Disappearing the influence of the Church in the recent years, Predominantly Catholic country, Ireland, has allowed abortion to the Irish women as the Irish Parliament passed the new legislation allowing abortion for the first time.

A referendum was held earlier this year allowing the conditions for abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy– if there is a risk to the life of the pregnant woman or serious harm to her health. The Irish health service will start providing the medical facility to women in January 2019.

Women in Ireland waited for 35 years for this, what they called the violations of their human rights which must come to an end. They thanked the small group of people who fought the battle for them.
