Around 126 men of the Afghan security forces were killed in an attack by the Taliban at a military compound in central Maidan Wardak province on Monday, said an official in the Defence Ministry in Kabul.
According to reports, the attackers rammed a car full of explosives through a military check point at the National Directorate of Security (NDS) forces training centre.
The Taliban attackers used U.S.-made Humvee vehicles captured from Afghan forces to breach the military fortifications.
After the explosion, two gunmen entered the campus and shot at Afghan soldiers.
They were gunned down while exchanging fire.
