Taliban Islamist fighters killed at least eight Afghan National Directorate of Security force members and four civilians in central Ghazni on Sunday.
At least 50 civilians were wounded as a car bomb blew up in central Ghazni province.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for detonating the bomb.
Provincial government spokesman in Ghazni, Arif Noori, confirmed eight members of the Afghan security forces and four civilians died in the blast.
The injured were rushed to the hospital.
Taliban continue to intensify attacks on Afghan forces and control more than half of Afghanistan.
