The release of ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ (an award winning film) by Sarmad Khoosat, is on hold till the final declaration, which shall be made after consulting the Islamic Ideological Council, an influential advisory body of Pakistan.
The film which had been scheduled to get its release on January 24, has Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) as the frontline opponent.
“Film might lead [people] to deviate from Islam and the Prophet”.
Shedding light on the claim, group said that
“The characterization of Naat-Reciter in the film is such that it can cause discomfort to the public and might lead them to deviate from Islam and Prophet (Muhammad)”.
Zindagi Tamasha, directed and co-produced by Sarmad along with his sister Kanwal Khoosat, is a bilingual movie, which has been shot in Lahore, is all about a man shunned after a video of him dancing at a wedding goes viral.
