Pakistani folk singer Shazia Khushk announced an end to her career owing to her ‘religious obligations’.
The Dane Pe Dana singer said that she has decided to spend the rest of her life in service of Islam.
“I’ve decided to spend the rest of my life in service of Islam,” Khushk said, adding that she had received many singing offers from overseas which she declined. The veteran singer who has been in the showbiz industry for the past 25 years, emphasised she is certain that she will never make a comeback.
Khush further said, “I’m grateful to my fans for loving my songs and hope that they will strongly support me in my new move. I wanted to do at this stage in my life.” The folk singer is known for her songs in Sindhi, Balochi Dhatki, Sairaiki, Urdu, Kashmori, Gujrati, Brelvi and Punjabi.
In 2014, Pakistani actress, Veena Malik, had also bid farewell to the film industry citing her profession was conflicting with their religious beliefs.
