Deepika Padukone vocal about depression, helps mental illness patients

Indian actress Deepika Padukone has always been vocal about depression and anxiety and wrote a letter that she was diagnosed with anxiety and clinical depression and how she overcame her mental illness having undergone treatment for it.

After knowing about the subject and her own illness, she found that there were millions of others like her who were suffering in silence, the actress started an NGO to help mental illness patients and create awareness about it.

Padukone said she was fortunate enough that she got timely professional help, adding, support from her loved ones made her recover rapidly.

She wrote in her letter that mental illness and depression patients should not feel they are alone, and no one is there to take care of them.

There is help for them.

She started Live, Love and Laugh Foundation in 2015, which is providing help and guidance on depression and restlessness. Her foundation has become quite popular and assisting other organizations which are working and researching on mental health, and treatment.

She also said, a few weeks ago they started another movement called “Not ashamed” with focus on people who became victims of mental and psychological complications and diseases.

The movement is quite successful which is a great source of encouragement.

It’s known that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were dating each other in the past, broke up, their relationship failed and they moved on with their life.

She is making headlines big time as the actress married her boyfriend Ranveer Singh recently. Talking about her past relationship, she said that one has to understand why sometimes things don’t work out and that there should be an understanding between people and “let go” of the situation.
